OK GAMERS .. BIG NEWS, Angry Birds comes to the PC.

Yes, that’s all, sorry I lied, but I least I did not code a joke like this, and then try to sell it as a game. I know where seem to be lots of people who are willing to go to see Angry Birds movie, and have angry birds soft ties, but hey, I am sorry, sorry for you that is. But it takes

The game (if it can be called that) needs 512 MB ram, 1 GHz CPU, and crappy open GL 1.3 plus an internet connection. So it should not stretch even OLD pc too much, All this you get for $4.95, but I think a firer price would be them paying you the same amount for wasting your hard drive space, and eating away your mind.

Let me know why you would pay for this shining … thing?

HP to Keep PC Division

PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 27, 2011 – Meg Whitman, HP president and chief executive officer made the following statement “HP objectively evaluated the strategic, financial and operational impact of spinning off PSG. It’s clear after our analysis that keeping PSG within HP is right for customers and partners, right for shareholders, and right for employees. HP is committed to PSG, and together we are stronger.”

To see the full statement here.

A strategic review involving experts from across HP revealed the depth of the integration that has occurred across key operations such as supply chain, IT and procurement. It detailed the significant extent to which PSG contributes to HP’s solutions portfolio and overall brand value. It also showed that the cost to recreate these in a standalone company outweighed any benefits of separation.

Way to go HP!!

How much did that report cost though? I am pretty shure that I could have written that on the back of a paper napkin free of charge!

The plan to sell PSG was part of Mr Apotheker’s strategy to refocus HP on software and cloud services.

But within months of being appointed in November last year, shareholders and analysts became uneasy about his planned changes and subsequent acquisition of  the UK software company Autonomy.

HP shares fell by 20% the day after the now ex CEO of HP Leo Apotheker announced the possible spin-off of the PC arm, and went on to lose 40% of their value during his tenure.

After Meg Whitman statement shares in the company rose 4.8% on Thursday.

So Leo.. just when will the PC be on its last legs? It look like it may yet out live your Leo Apotheker.

So here is looking forward to so new year with HP new PC, and building windows 8 devices.

Are Consoles Holding PC gaming back?

Patrick Batch the executive producer at EA’s DICE studio gave an interview to

when asked if consoles are holding PC gaming back, Bach replied “Yes, Absolutely”, and added “That’s the biggest problem we have today”. He went on, saying that most games are made for the lowest common denominator (i.e. consoles), and that console games are generally ported to the PC with some higher resolution textures.

Bach stressed that DICE is expand »doing the opposite with Battlefield 3, the PC version is the lead version and the console versions will be scaled down, as opposed to console version being scaled up to the PC.

Batch went to say that despite favouring the PC platform, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will look just as good as anything on the console market today. Bach also commented on whether the Frostbite 2.0 engine will be licensed out to other developers, which he denied with a firm “NO”.
